Area Guide to Southampton

Southampton is a beautiful and growing city that boasts a young professional’s lifestyle through the numerous blue-chip companies locating their headquarters there. DINNER-

The Oxford brasserie is a bright and vibrant modern restaurant that serves fantastic looking and tasting Italian dishes complemented by a daily new specials list. So, if you have a taste for fine wine, be sure to ask the manager if you can’t decide! Don’t worry, the Brasserie offers fantastic vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options so nobody misses out!

Walks-

Southampton is home to various different parks, greens and walkways that make life just that little bit easier. Not too far from the centre of town is the Southampton Common, where you can take your dog for long walks or have a lovely day out with your friends playing games and having barbeques. But let’s say you prefer to have the best of both worlds by having a large park and river to walk alongside. Riverside park gives you that opportunity, not to mention the cheeky swans that think they’re entitled to your food so watch out!

Attention all coffee lovers, look no further than Docks Coffee! This is a welcoming counter-serve coffee shop serving arguably the best coffee in Southampton! A great place if you’re looking for a quick coffee and breakfast before heading off to work. They also offer other refreshments as well as a variety of light bites and some baked goods. This place is always full of fellow coffee lovers, so you’ll feel right at home here.

Let the good times roll! If you fancy a drink or two, then take your friends down to Turtle Bay in Guildhall Square. Here you are blessed with a huge menu of cocktails to choose from as well as their fantastic Caribbean-style food.  What could be better? How about their happy hour that lasts from 10AM to 7PM & 8:30 PM – close.

SHOPPING-

If you like to enjoy the finer things in life, then you’ll have no problem continuing that with extent of shops in Southampton. West Quay shopping centre is a hotspot that has everything you need from designer brands to technology stores and if you fancy something to eat along the way, then try out the fabulous food court that hosts a number of different styled restaurants. And if you don’t like being couped up inside a shopping centre, then directly outside West Quay is the high street where you will find plenty more stores to take your fancy!
