Let\u2019s face it, organization can be tough- especially if you\u2019re sharing a flat with 3 other people. It\u2019s up to you to make the best use out of your own personal space. Check out these tips to help you maximize your space to create a room you can enjoy on the daily.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Take advantage of hidden space. <\/span><\/b>Aka, don\u2019t be scared of the monsters under your bed. Plastic containers are a great way to organize and store belongings and also fit perfectly under your bed without looking cluttered. This can free up a lot of floor space and reduce the need for further storage around your room.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2. Utilise walls like a pro: <\/span><\/b>Think vertical. Consider which items can be cleared off the floor and onto the walls. For mirrors, opt for hanging wall mirrors instead of ones that sit on the floor. Hanging file folders are very useful for getting items off your surfaces, such as papers which need organizing. Hanging bulletin boards or magnetic boards can do the same trick, and are also useful for sticking reminders, lists, plans, and pictures. Just kidding (or am I?) Let\u2019s face it, your bed takes up majority of space in your room and this can be reduced by settling for a smaller bedframe. 4. Loft your bed: <\/span><\/b>Maximize every inch of your room by raising your bed on a loft. This is a great way to use vertical space- creating extra storage, an area for your desk, or even a closet. Sort what you truly need, versus things you may just want to keep around. Donate old clothes, throw out useless papers, and get rid of the odd boxes laying around. This can help transform a small bedroom into a den, or office space and a bedroom. This is also great if you want to have friends over, but don\u2019t want to hang out in a living room shared with flatmates.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

9. Maximize your closet space. <\/span><\/b>Closets can be considerably underrated. When you first glance at an open space with nothing but a metal rod, it makes closets seem limited to storing only items that can be thrown on a hanger.
